Throughout the maritime industry, JOWA’s products have earned a solid reputation for their quality and reliability. JOWA AB offers a product series for treating oily water and wastewater, including:
- JOWA 3SEP OWS – Oily water separator in accordance with IMO MEPC 107(49).
- JOWA EBU – Pretreatment emulsion breaking unit system to JOWA 3SEP and separates up to 80% of the water in the emulsion.
- JOWA ODME 2005 – Oil discharge monitor equipment in accordance with IMO resolution MEPC 108(49) and BIO Fuel Approval MEPC 240(65).
- JOWA Seaguard – Oil content monitor approved to IMO MEPC 107(49).
- JOWA STP 2016 – Sewage treatment plant in accordance with IMO MEPC 227(64) and meet all the requirements in Marpol 73/78 annex IV.

Authorized JOWA Service Engineers
Many service companies perform unauthorized service on critical MARPOL equipment, violating the regulations. Calibration check can only be done by manufacturer-authorized service agents. JOWA has a verifying system for service authorization. All JOWA Service Engineers are now equipped with a JOWA ID certificate.

Brief History of JOWA
1970s AB Brunnshygien became JOWA AB, based on the names of the two owners, Jowén and Wallentin. JOWA began to sell OWS Bilge separators (MARPOL 73/78) to Götaverken, Kockums, and other shipyards in Sweden in the 1970s.
2004 JOWA USA is the North American distributor of JOWA AB products (formerly Metritape, Inc.)
2024 The Norwegian IMS Group AS purchased all shares of JOWA AB.
