Kaydon Fuel Coalescer/Separator Vessel
The Kaydon Filtration 121A and Kaydon Filtration 851E series are diesel fuel/water separation and filtration vessels that utilize coalescing technology to separate water from diesel fuel. This fuel-purifying technology protects the fuel injection systems (fuel injection pump), keeping diesel-powered engines in service. In addition to water removal, the coalescer provides a particulate filtration layer to remove harmful particulates, remove harmful contaminants, and protect the coalescing stage. The Kaydon 121A diesel fuel/water separator vessel is an industrial diesel fuel #2 filter vessel that utilizes Kaydon Filtration coalescing technology and particulate removal capabilities. The Kaydon 121A removes damaging water and captures destructive particulates. Optionally, the Kaydon 121A can be configured with either wall or floor mounting and a differential pressure gauge.
Kaydon 851E Diesel Fuel/Water Separators Series
The Kaydon 851E fuel/water separator vessel series are industrial diesel fuel (diesel fuel grade #1, diesel fuel grade #2) vessels that utilize Kaydon Filtration coalescing technology and particulate removal capabilities. This fuel oil filtration system will remove damaging water and capture destructive particulates. The Kaydon 851E fuel/water separator vessel series has a particulate performance rating of ISO Cleanliness Code < 18/16/13 and a diesel fuel water removal of less than 130 ppm.
The Kaydon 851E fuel/water separator system protects the fuel injection system and removes the burden of contamination control from the on-engine fuel filters. Fuel Purification Skid Assemblies & Systems
The Kaydon FC systems are diesel fuel particulate filtration and water separation systems. The larger Kaydon fuel conditioning systems are designed for installation in high flow-rate fuel transfer lines, and the smaller Kaydon fuel conditioning systems are designed for fuel purification during fuel transfer operations or for the circulation/purification of a diesel fuel tank. This technology is available in two (2) system configurations: (1) inline for single-pass filtration during fuel distribution or transfer or (2) recirculation for fuel storage tanks. The Kaydon FC systems are ruggedly designed for use in areas such as mining, marine, emergency backup power, agriculture, construction, or anywhere diesel fuel is transferred and stored.

While on-engine filtration is necessary, installing bulk fuel conditioning assemblies is always a wise investment. Diesel fuel filtration assemblies guarantee that the maximum amount of debris is kept from entering the engine fuel system, which could easily overwhelm the minimal capacity of the on-engine diesel fuel filters. Diesel fuel contamination eventually leads to emergency shutdowns, increased operating and maintenance total costs, and shortened engine design lifecycles.
Kaydon One-Pass Diesel Fuel Purification System
The Kaydon FC diesel fuel purification system can handle substantially higher flow rates than traditional fuel/water separators in the same size assembly. Contamination begins when diesel fuel #2 leaves the refinery and begins its journey to its destination. Dirt, dust, grit, water, and other debris find their way into the fuel as it is transported and stored. If unchecked, contamination can lead to excessive wear, unplanned downtime, or even damage to expensive diesel-powered equipment. Modern diesel engines require clean and dry fuel to run smoothly and reliably. High-pressure injectors and close tolerance components leave little tolerance for contaminated fuels.
The Kaydon Filtration fuel purification One-Pass Fuel Conditioning (FC) systems assure that #2 diesel fuels, including those with additive packages and blended biodiesel up to B20, are clean and water-free and exceed the latest ASTM D975 Diesel Fuel #2 Specification.
Kaydon Fuel Conditioning
In industrial applications (mining, construction, marine, power generation, agriculture, combustion turbine fuel forwarding, or anywhere diesel fuel is transferred or stored), the Kaydon FC Series removes water and particulates from your diesel fuel. Placed in series with your fuel flow line or recirculating a fuel storage tank, the Kaydon One-Pass FC multi-stage conditioning process removes dirt, debris, and water before the fuel is dispensed into diesel engine fuel tanks.
The Kaydon One-Pass FC systems can handle substantially higher flow rates than traditional fuel/water separators in the same size assembly using the Kaydon Filtration CI3510-P (P/N C220052) or CI3520-P (P/N C220049) coalescer elements. Kaydon coalescer elements can be used in diesel fuel #2, and biodiesel blends up to B20. (Reference the CI35XXP series datasheet for full specifications and performance details.) The Kaydon One-Pass diesel fuel filtration systems have a wide array of options.
Kaydon Bulk Diesel Fuel Purification
The Kaydon Filtration bulk diesel fuel purification skid assemblies can be integrated into the fuel transfer pipeline to reduce harmful particulates and prevent damaging water from entering mobile equipment fuel tanks. Reducing the amount of contamination entering the fuel tank reduces the fuel filtration and water removal burden for the on-engine filters. Free-breathing bulk storage tanks, high humidity, and deliveries by pipeline, tank truck, or marine barges allow water to enter and accumulate in diesel fuel storage tanks.
Over time, water settles out of the diesel fuel through natural separation and gathers in the low sump areas of fuel storage tanks. To preserve the diesel fuel’s quality, harmful contaminants, harmful particulates, and water must be removed from the fuel transfer pipeline without mixing them back into the contents. The Kaydon bulk diesel fuel filtration system is designed to remove particulates and water. The Kaydon bulk diesel filtration skid can be assembled with a filtration vessel and a fuel/water separator vessel.
