TD-107 Oil Content Monitor
TD-107s Oil Content Monitor is upgraded TD-107 Oil Content Monitor
Separator Spares & Equipment, LLC is an Authorized Sales and Service Agent for the TD-107 Oil Content Monitor. We are authorized to perform TD-107 oil content monitor commissioning, calibration, and start-up services.
The TD-107s oil content monitor is built on the highly successful fluorescence detection technology of Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instrument’s TD-107 oil content monitor. The original TD-107 oil content monitor revolutionized the market with incredibly accurate bilge oil detection and superior resistance to false positives like rust, debris, and other solids that routinely registered false positives on competing light-scatter devices. The TD-107s oil content monitor saves time and money by keeping your oily water separator from recirculation caused by false positives. The TD-107s is US Coast Guard approved and IMO Resolution MEPC.107(49) compliant.
The TD-107s oil content monitor is smaller, lighter, and offers a modular remote detection cell that makes maintenance and exchange easy. Pre-calibrated cells are available for simple swap-out by the end-user via plug-and-play connections.
The TD-107s features an IP65 rated enclosure, a bright LED-backlit display, and a user-friendly control menu for easy operation. It also contains a new computer control module and a user-accessible micro SC card that captures up to 18 months of onboard trending.
The TD-107s Fluorescence Oil Content Monitor (OCM) is a 5 ppm or 15 ppm bilge alarm for oily water separators based on fluorescence detection technology. Fluorescence makes the TD-107 immune to interferences by turbidity or particles/sediments in the bilge, which impact competing “light scatter” oil content monitors. Because silt, algae, iron oxide, and/or other particles do not fluoresce at oil’s wavelength, they cannot interfere as a ‘false positive’ high alarm that will keep the oily water separator in recirculation mode without ever pumping down the oily waste holding tanks.
Separator Spares & Equipment provides calibration service, new, and/or replacement TD-107 bilge alarm monitors.
Features & Advantages:
FLUORESCENCE detection technology is resistant to interferences from turbid or dirty water that impact light scatter devices.
Substances such as sediment and rust do not materially interfere with the detection of oil in water.
FLUORESCENCE detection ensures that the oily water separator is not ‘fooled’ into staying in recirculation mode by false positives caused by silt and other solids.
Features a Cell Cleanliness Monitor to alert crew when cleaning is required simple and easy maintenance.
Includes standard alarm relays and 4-20mA output for remote monitoring, along with user-friendly USB data port for review of recorded OCM data.

COMPONENTS | |
Enclosure | A powder coated mild steel enclosure houses the monitor electronics including printed circuit boards and power and relay terminals. It is connected to the Smart Sensor assembly with a quick connect calbe. |
Monitor Terminal Blocks | Located behind enclosure front panel. Power, AC/DC relay, and 4-30mA analog output connections are made on these blocks. |
LCD | The monitor default is the home screen which displays hydrocarbon concentration readings as well as any active alarms. Users can navigate to the other functions screens by using the keypad. |
Keypad | The keypad features a common five point navigation star for left, right, up, down, and enter commands. Shortcut keys are provided for main screens & menus |
Smart Sensor Assembly | The Smart Sensor assembly is connected to the monitor enclosure with a quick-connect cable. Includes a clear flow cell in a plastic enclosure, sealed optics and electronics, a humidity sensor, and a three-position flush valve. |
Three-Position Ball Valve | The valve is attached to the Smart Sensor and wired to the monitor enclosure. It allows normal processes, flushing, and solution injection by controlling the sample inlet and outlet lines to the Smart Sensor assembly. |
Luer-Lok Injection Port | The port on the front of the Smart Sensor used for injecting cleaning solutions with a syringe. |
Cleanout Port | A port located on top of the Smart Sensor assembly permits access to the flow for cleaning with a brush when flushing alone is not effective. |
Sample Inlet | The plumbing connection for attaching the sample intake line to the Smart Sensor assembly. |
Sample Outlet | The plumbing connection for attaching the sample out line to the Smart Sensor assembly. |
Flush Line Inlet | The plumbing connection for attaching a clean water line or pump to the Smart Sensor assembly. |

Why Fluorescence Oil Content Monitor?
Fluorescence technology is the most reliable method for detecting oil in both droplet and emulsified form. It has the further advantage of ‘ignoring’ solids and particulates in the process stream, thus providing a more accurate indication of actual oil concentration. The fluorescence detection technology offers incredibly accurate bilge oil detection and superior resistance to false positives like rust, debris, and other solids that routinely registered false positives on competing light-scatter devices.
The result, in many cases, is an increased ability for the oily water separator to process water with less time spent in recirculation.
The TD-107s oil content monitor is US Coast Guard approved and IMO Resolution MEPC.107(49) compliant.
