The Alfa Laval HeatPack CBM brazed plate heat exchanger is designed mainly for preheating fuel and lubrication oil before centrifugal separation. The HeatPack heater uses either steam, thermal oil, or hot water as the heating medium. The compact design of the HeatPack CBM heater contains a series of corrugated stainless steel plates mounted together to form channels through which the heating medium and the oil flow in opposite directions. The gasket-free design ensures reliable performance, with stainless-steel plates brazed in a furnace using thin copper foil in between. Even with a small footprint, the corrugated surface of the stainless steel plates allows for efficient heat transfer from the heating medium to the oil.
